Description
Ende September 2022 werden die traditionellen Einzahlungsscheine (ESR) für Banküberweisungen in der Schweiz verschwinden. Als Ablösung folgt die «QR-Rechnung» (https://www.einfach-zahlen.ch/), welche im Juli 2020 eingeführt wurde.
Um in Zukunft diese kostengünstige Zahlungsmöglichkeit mit all seinen Vorteilen anzubieten, haben wir sqrip entwickelt. sqrip für WooCommerce besteht aus einer universellen API (http://api.sqrip.ch/) sowie einem WordPress-Plugin, welches sich nahtlos mit WooCommerce verbindet und mit verschiedenen Optionen aufwartet. Das Plugin ist «open source» (https://github.com/netmex/sqrip-woocommerce) und lässt sich so für anderen Shopsysteme anpassen.
Names and terms you may be looking for
The Swiss QR bill goes by many names: in German QR-Rechnung, QR-Einzahlungsschein or simply Einzahlungsschein; in French QR-facture, bulletin de versement or code QR; in Italian QR-fattura or polizza di versamento. sqrip produces this Swiss QR Code payment part for all of them from the same WooCommerce order. It also covers payment reconciliation (Kontoabgleich) — manually or automatically via EBICS and camt.053 — as well as WPML, multi-store and multi-site setups, an integration with PDF Invoices & Packing Slips, and multiple invoice installments.
Funktionsweise
sqrip wird als zusätzliche Zahlungsmethode in WooCommerce aufgeführt und kann dort konfiguriert werden. Zwecks Identifikation und Abrechnung, aber auch aus Sicherheitsaspekten wird das Plugin über einen API Schlüssel/Token mit dem sqrip-Konto verbunden. Die QR-Rechnung wird von der API erstellt, ausgeliefert und im gewünschten Format in der Mediathek abgespeichert. Von dort kann die Datei an verschiedenen Orten integriert (z.B. als Beilage in die Bestätigungs-E-Mail) und jederzeit erneut geöffnet werden. Falls die Rechnung geändert wurde, kann mit einem Klick der QR-Zahlungsteil aktualisiert werden. Die Referenznummer wird prominent beim Auftrag angezeigt, damit ein Abgleich schnell möglich ist.
Gut zu wissen
- Die Rechnung aus WooCommerce wird nicht angetastet. Die QR-Rechnung ist ein eigenes PDF-Dokument.
- Als Empfängerkonto kann die normale IBAN oder die neue QR-IBAN verwendet werden. Mit einer QR-IBAN können Zahlungen nur mit Angabe einer QR-Referenz(nummer) ausgeführt werden. Damit lässt sich jede einzelne Einzahlung eindeutig einem Kunden / einer Bestellung zuweisen. Der automatische Abgleich der eingegangenen Zahlungen mit den Bestellungen wird so möglich. Dies ist Grundlage für eine weitere (Teil-)Automatisierung.
- Ein sqrip-Konto kann mit mehreren Shops verbunden werden. Es sind mehrere API Schlüssel möglich.
- Jeder API Schlüssel sollte nach einer selbst gewählten Dauer ersetzt werden. Es besteht daher die Möglichkeit, ein Ablaufdatum zu definieren. Nach diesem Tag kann ohne Anpassungen des Shop-Eigentümers keine QR-Rechnung mehr angeboten werden. Es muss ein neuer API-Schlüssel erstellt und verlinkt werden.
Optionen
sqrip bietet verschiedene Optionen an:
a) Name und Beschreibung der Zahlungsmöglichkeit
Nenne Sie die Zahlungsmethode ‚Banküberweisung‘ oder ‚Einzahlung‘ oder wie immer Sie wollen.
b) Zahlungsempfänger
Der Zahlungsempfänger wird automatisch vom sqrip-Konto oder den WooCommerce-Einstellungen übernommen. Eine manuelle Anpassung ist möglich.
c) (QR-)IBAN
Die Bankverbindung, auf die der Rechnungsbetrag überwiesen werden soll. Wird diese Kontonummer absichtlich oder unabsichtlich geändert, wird der Eigentümer des sqrip-Kontos über diese Änderung per E-Mail informiert. Er kann die Änderung aktiv bestätigen oder passiv zulassen.
d) (QR-)Referenznummer
Die (QR-)Referenznummer wird entweder komplett mit Zufallszahlen erstellt oder enthält Bestellnummer und/oder sechs initiale Ziffern, um eine Rechnung schneller zu identifizieren. Die passende (QR-)Referenz wird automatisch auf Basis der verwendeten (QR-)IBAN erstellt.
e) Zusätzliche Informationen
Auf bis zu drei Linien und mit maximal 140 Zeichnen können zusätzliche Informationen auf der QR-Rechnung ergänzt werden. Dazu gehören
– das Fälligkeitsdatum (Die Zeit bis der Käufer die Rechnung bezahlen soll);
– die Bestellnummer (Achtung: sqrip ist nicht mit der order# des plugins «WoCommerce Sequential Order Numbers» kompatibel);
– jeglicher anderer Freitext (z.B. die URL des Webshops oder eine Danksagung.
Das Feld unterstützt WPML.
f) Integration
Define the e-mail to which the qr-invoice will be attached to.
It can also be offered for download on the confirmation page.
If you generally need to adjust pricing or quantity after an order has been placed, you can suppress a QR invoice generation at the checkout and generate it manually later;
Merge the QR bill slip with the invoice created with the Plugin ‚PDF Invoices & Packing Slips for WooCommerce‘ into one single PDF file;
Use sqrip in multiple stores installed on the same server instance.
g) E-mail enclosure
The QR invoice can be enclosed with the e-mail in two ways:
– page A4 (blank) with payment section at the bottom;
– only the payment section (formerly «payment slip») in A6 format;
– add the QR invoice to multiple e-mails;
h) Language
– The language to be used on the QR invoice (de, fr, it, en) is set per store.
i) Test-E-Mail
Mit einem Klick werden die Einstellungen getestet und man sieht, wie die QR-Rechnung bei den Kunden ankommen.
j) Manuell eine QR-Rechnung stellen
– Unterdrücke ein automatisches Erstellen einer QR-Rechnung beim Bestellungseingang und setze den Status der Bestellung auf einen eigenen Begriff.
– Initiiere eine QR-Rechnung manuell oder aktualisiere die Datei.
k) Nutzen Sie die von sqrip erstellten QR-Codes um Rückerstattungen zu tätigen
Scannen Sie den QR-Code mit der Banking App, um eine Zahlung an den Kunden zu erfassen. Aufgepasst: Dazu wird die IBAN des Kunden benötigt!
l) Manueller Zahlungsabgleich
Bei Bestellungen mit einem für ausstehende Zahlungen definierten Bestellstatus kann mit einem Klick der Zahlungseingang bestätigt und der Status auf den nächsten Wert gesetzt werden. Sollte ein passender Status fehlen, ist dieser innert Sekunden erstellt. Der Abgleich erfolgt entweder in der Liste der Bestellungen oder auf der Detailseite der Bestellung.
m) Payer Name
– For corporate payers, choose to show either the Company name or the Firstname / Name. Or show all names together.
– sqrip is ready for ’structured addresses‘ for QR invoices.
n) Dateiname
Der Dateiname jeder QR-Rechnung kann individuell definiert werden. Ergänze das Bestelldatum, die Bestellnummer oder eine andere Information wie den Namen des Shops, um die QR-Rechnung zu individualisieren.
o) Lösche nicht mehr benötigte QR-Rechnungen automatisch
Halte die Grösse der Mediathek klein. sqrip löscht alle nicht mehr benötigten QR-Rechnungen, wenn
– gewisse Bestellstati erreicht werden (z.B. Storniert);
– x Tage seit dem Speichern der Datei vergangen sind.
p) Adjustable to your process
sqrip is flexible enough to be adopted to your individual process.
– Define your own order status for payments made with sqrip;
– Define the moment you expect the payment to arrive (prior to shipment or thereafter);
– Define the status after payment has arrived;
– Use multiple payment installments (e.g. Pay 30% when the order is placed; Pay the remaining 70% 30 days after delivery);
q) Shows when something is wrong, turns off automatically
Instead of showing technical, unuseful error messages to your clients, we turn the service off automatically and show you where to look at for resolving the issue.
Anforderungen
- Neben einer aktuellen WordPress und WooCommerce Installation wird ein Konto auf sqrip.ch benötigt.
- Sie benötigen eine (QR-)IBAN einer Schweizer/Liechtensteiner Bank.
- Die Kunden müssen Zahlungen mit dieser Methode überweisen können.
- Rechnungsbeträge müssen in CHF oder EUR lauten.
Datenschutz
- Die an sqrip zwecks Erstellung der QR-Rechnung übermittelten Daten (z.B. Zahlungspflichtiger, Betrag) werden nach der Auslieferung der Datei umgehend wieder gelöscht.
- Auf https://api.sqrip.ch wird jede Produktion/Auslieferung in einem Logbuch mit Datum/Uhrzeit, Herkunft (z.B. WooCommerce), aufgerufenem API Schlüssel und ausgeliefertem Produkt erfasst.

Wie viel wird mich eine QR-Rechnung kosten?
We charge according to actually used QR invoices. One QR invoice costs 1 credit. Credits can be purchased in packages of 100 pcs. (for CHF 20) to 20’000 pcs. (for CHF 1’000) – each plus VAT. The lowest price for a QR-bill is therefore 5 centimes (CHF 0.05).
Kann ich die Lösung kostenlos ausprobieren?
Ja. Die Anmeldung (http://api.sqrip.ch/login) ist kostenlos. Es werden keine Kreditkartendetails benötigt. Zum Ausprobieren gibt es 20 Credits. Damit lassen sich alle Funktionen testen (Test E-Mail!). Im Anschluss sind Pakete mit Credits zu kaufen. Wenn Ihnen die Leistung nicht passt, können Sie das Konto einfach wieder löschen.
Wird der Dienst weiterentwickelt?
Ja. Wir arbeiten am Vergleich des Bestellstatus mit den Zahlungseingängen auf dem Bankkonto, womit der Bestellstatus automatisch aktualisiert werden kann. Unser Ziel bleibt: Wir bieten eine günstige, einfache, verlässliche Bezahlmethode. Wir freuen uns auf Ihre Ideen.
Was sind die Gründe, sqrip für unser Geschäft zu nutzen?
- sqrip ist in 5 Minuten eingerichtet – IT-Kenntnisse sind nicht nötig.

1.10.5 : August 2026 – Fix
- Order notes now say why a QR invoice could not be created. Until now the note read «Renew QR Invoice error: Server Error», which looks like a breakdown at sqrip. In nearly every case it means the opposite: the invoice data was refused — a wrong IBAN, a reference the chosen format does not allow, or an address field that is empty, too long or contains characters a QR bill does not permit. The note now says that in plain words, names the field the service objected to, and keeps the original wording as a technical aside;
- One order with unusable data can no longer switch sqrip off for your whole shop. If you use the option ‚Turn sqrip services off automatically if an error occurs‘, it now takes effect only when the sqrip service itself is unreachable — not when a single order is refused because of its own data. Previously such an order could disable the payment method, and you had to notice and switch it back on by hand;
- Internal function names that carried another plugin’s prefix, or a word as common as «endsWith», now use sqrip’s own prefix. This closes a rare but total failure: if a snippet or another plugin happened to use the same name, WordPress stopped with a fatal error and the entire site went down — not just sqrip. How the plugin works is unchanged.
- One exception worth knowing, and it affects almost nobody: if you removed the QR payment part from the PDF invoice with your own code — a remove_action on ‚wpo_wcpdf_tax_exempt‘ — that line no longer matches and the payment part comes back. Point it at ’sqrip_append_qr_to_pdf_invoice‘ instead. The setting ‚Combine QR-Slip with Invoice into one document‘ is not affected and remains the normal way to switch this off.
- None of your settings are changed by this update.
1.10.4 : August 2026 – Feature
- New setting ‚Restrict QR-invoice by country‘: sqrip is then offered only for the invoice countries you select (Switzerland and Liechtenstein by default). A QR-invoice is always in Swiss francs, so for customers abroad it causes confusion, bank charges for paying in the wrong currency, and manual work on your side;
- The restriction is switched off on update. Nothing changes for your shop until you switch it on yourself;
- If a customer nevertheless reaches the payment step with an invoice address outside your list — for instance by changing the country late in the checkout — the order is not placed silently. The customer is told that the QR-invoice is unavailable for their address and can pick another payment method. The order is also never left without a way to pay;
- The same rule applies to orders you create by hand in the backend: no QR-invoice is generated, and the reason is recorded in the order notes;
- An empty country list switches the restriction off instead of blocking every order.
- Corrected the description of the language setting. It said the QR invoice could be produced in the language your customer selected on a multilingual site — the plugin cannot do that. The language is taken from the shop setting for every QR invoice. Following the customer’s language is planned for a future release;
1.10.3 : Juli 2026 – Fixes
- Orders you enter by hand in the backend now get the QR slip inside the PDF invoice as well, if you use the ‚PDF Invoices & Packing Slips‘ integration. Until now only orders placed through the shop did, so the same order taken by phone or e-mail produced an invoice without the QR slip;
- The payee address now shows the building number when the address is taken from your sqrip account. The number is stored in your account and delivered by the sqrip API, but the plugin left it out of the QR bill — so the payee address was printed incomplete, which the structured addresses require it not to be. The other two address sources, and the payer address, were never affected;
1.10.2 : Juli 2026 – Fix
- Opening the sqrip settings no longer ticks ‚Payment Comparison‘ by itself. On shops with the feature switched off the checkbox appeared ticked as soon as the settings screen was opened, so saving switched the feature on. It affects 1.10 and 1.10.1; if you do not use the payment comparison, check the setting once on the Services tab after updating;
- Switching ‚Payment Comparison‘ off no longer switches ‚Multiple QR-Slips‘ on, and the other way round. The two still cannot run at the same time — switching one on turns the other off — but you can now leave both off, which was impossible before. Toggling the Refunds checkbox no longer affected the two either;
- Clarification on the automatic clean-up: the retention period under ‚Delete QR invoices after … days‘ applies to your existing QR invoices as well, not only to newly created ones. Invoices of orders still waiting for payment are always kept, and order data, amounts and references are never affected;
1.10.1 : Juli 2026 – Fixes
- New button in the settings: delete all QR-invoice PDFs created up to today right away, instead of waiting for the daily clean-up. Invoices of orders that are still waiting for payment are always kept;
- The clean-up now also removes files that were previously left behind: refund QR codes, the PNG for the PDF-invoice integration, the individual slips of a multi-invoice order, and leftovers from earlier regenerations;
- The refund QR code is shown immediately instead of being hidden behind a link;
- Order confirmation page: the QR-invoice download is no longer offered when the invoice has already been deleted (the button used to lead nowhere) or when the order is cancelled, refunded or already paid;
- New setting ‚Logo height at the checkout‘: the sqrip logo next to the payment method now has a defined size (24 pixels by default, 0 hides it). Previously the size was left entirely to the theme, so the square logo appeared oversized in some shops and barely visible in others;
- New setting ‚Form of address in the shop front end‘: the texts your customers see — on the order confirmation page and the message shown when a QR invoice cannot be created — can now use the informal form (currently for German shops);
- The error your customers see when a QR invoice cannot be created is now translated instead of appearing in English;
- Manual invoices in the media library are no longer at risk: the clean-up job only ever deletes PDFs that sqrip created itself (it could previously delete unrelated PDFs whose name contained a certain number);
- Refunds no longer report success when no refund QR code could be created;
- Failed QR-invoice downloads are reported instead of producing an empty PDF, and can no longer interrupt the checkout;
- Revisiting the order-received page no longer resets the order status or re-sends the payment e-mail;
- ‚Confirm receipt of payment‘ now only appears for orders that are actually waiting for payment, and can no longer be triggered twice for the same instalment;
- The payment deadline printed on the QR bill is always correct, also when the due-date setting has never been saved;
- Fixed several errors that could interrupt the checkout on PHP 8, and warnings that could break the order process on servers with error display enabled;
- Block-based checkout: sqrip now applies the same availability rules as the classic checkout, so the payment method can no longer be offered in situations where the order cannot be completed with it;
- Security and robustness: the refund API key is no longer readable by users who cannot manage the shop, admin screens escape stored data, and the weekly version check no longer interrupts other scheduled jobs;
- Manually created orders: the ‚Generate QR Invoice‘ button works again on shops that still use the classic order storage. The button was bound to the order form of the new High-Performance Order Storage only, so on those shops nothing happened at all — no QR invoice, no PDF and no error message;
- The document icon in the sqrip order box is no longer shown before a QR invoice exists (it used to link back to the order instead of a PDF);
- Test e-mail: if sending fails, the actual error reported by your e-mail service is now shown instead of a generic hint, the recipient address is named on success, and a failed PDF is reported separately;

1.7 : April 2023
- Um Speicherplatz in deiner Mediathek zu sparen, löscht sqrip automatisch QR-Rechnungen, wenn gewisse Bestellstati erreicht werden (z.B. Storniert) oder wenn x Tage seit dem Speichern der Datei vergangen sind.
- Die initialen sechs Ziffern der regulären Referenznummer können jetzt individuell gesetzt werden. Buchstaben sind möglich (z.B. «RF39 SQRI PX11 1115 2023 0331 0»);
- Die Referenznummern werden nun in Ziffern-Gruppen angezeigt.
- Definiere einen passenden Bestellstatuts für die Zeit, in der du auf eine Zahlung wartest oder solange noch keine QR-Rechnung erstellt wurde.
- Zeige einen Warnhinweis, wenn sich die (QR-)IBAN im Plugin von jener auf api.sqrip.ch unterscheidet.
- Fehlerbehebung.
Wir haben unsere Benutzer mit diesen Änderungen (noch) glücklicher gemacht:
* Verpasse der Datei mit der QR-Rechnung einen individuellen Namen. Ergänze den Namen des Shops, die Bestellnummer oder das Bestelldatum (bspw. QRRechnung_babytuch_20230331_Bestellung_2503.pdf).
* Für Geschäftskunden können Firmenname und Kontaktperson als Zahlungspflichtiger angezeigt werden – oder einer der beiden Namen;
* Manuell erstellte Bestellungen benötigen nicht mehr eine E-Mail des Kunden, um eine QR-Rechnung zu erstellen.
1.6 : March 2023
- Das Validierungsergebnis für den API-Schlüssel zeigt auch den Namen des APi-Schlüssels an womit eine einfachere Identifikation möglich wird;
- Wenn für den Versand einer Test-E-Mail keine Gratis-Credits mehr verfügbar sind, wird neben dem Button ein Hinweis angezeigt, dass nun bezahlte Credits verwendet werden.
- Die Test-E-Mails zeigen nun auch die initialen Ziffern in der (QR-)Referenznummer;
- Darstellungs- und Textverbesserungen;
- Fehlerbehebung.
Wir haben unsere Kunden mit diesen Änderungen noch glücklicher gemacht:
* Das Plugin wird nicht mehr auf jeder Shop-Seite mitgeladen;
* Unterdrücken der QR-Rechnungen bei Bestellungseingang;
* Manuell erfasste Bestellungen erfordern weniger Informationen und zeigen bei fehlenden Informationen verständlichere Fehlermeldungen an;
* Wähle den Status für unbezahlte Bestellungen aus. Falls kein passender Status besteht, kann dieser rasch ergänzt werden (z.B. «bezahlt, in Verarbeitung»);
* Einfacherer Zahlungsabgleich in der Liste der Bestellungen oder der Detailseite der Bestellung: Mit einem Klick ist der Status aktualisiert;
* Der Befehl allow_url_open in den PHP-Einstellungen verhindert Probleme mit dem Herunterladen und speichern der QR-Rechnungen in der Medienbibliothek.
