Description
ATV Product Reviews for WooCommerce is a complete review manager for WooCommerce products. Add and edit product reviews from your WordPress dashboard (handy for reviews collected by email, WhatsApp or marketplaces), let logged-in customers who purchased a product publish their own verified review, and win Google star rich results with automatic schema.org markup — no code required.
Features
- Full review management — add, edit and moderate product reviews under Products Product Reviews; attach one review to multiple products at once.
- Customer reviews from real buyers — logged-in customers who have paid for the product can post their own review on the product page; submissions are automatically checked against their orders and badged as a verified purchase.
- Moderation workflow — approve or set reviews as pending; pending reviews stay hidden from the storefront and out of the Google markup.
- Google rich results — schema.org aggregateRating and review markup added to every product page, so eligible products can show stars in search results.
- Reviews tab after Description — a dedicated tab listing all reviews with ratings, dates and verification badges.
- Smart placement — the rating widget relocates itself directly below the product title on any theme, on single product and shop pages alike.
- Fun robot rating display — every rating is shown as five expressive robots that share the mood of the average score: angry red for 1-star, joyful green for 5-star, with grumpy orange, neutral yellow and happy lime in between. Prefer plain stars? The robots are just the default skin of the same standard rating data.

Installation
Installation
- Upload the
atv-product-reviews-for-woocommercefolder to/wp-content/plugins/, or install the ZIP through Plugins Add New. - Activate the plugin through the Plugins screen.
- Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active (the plugin declares it as a dependency).
- Go to Products Product Reviews and add your first review.
1. Add a review as the store owner
- Go to Products Product Reviews.
- In the Add a new review card at the bottom, start typing a product name and pick one from the suggestions. You can attach the same review to several products at once — repeat the search to add more.
- Fill in the reviewer name (required), email (optional), a rating from 1 to 5, a title, the review text and the review date.
- Choose a status: Approved (counts toward the rating and the Google markup) or Pending (hidden from the storefront).
- Optionally tick Show «Verified purchase» badge.
- Click Save review. It appears in the reviews list on the same page.
2. Edit or moderate an existing review
- Hover a review in the list and click Edit, or use the Approve / Set pending / Delete row actions.
- The form pre-fills every field. Click Update review to save, or Cancel editing to go back.
- Changing the linked products makes the review appear on, or disappear from, those products immediately.
3. Let customers review their purchases
- No configuration needed. On any product page, the Reviews tab shows an Add Review button to logged-in customers who have purchased that product.
- They pick a rating and (optionally) a title and review text, then click Submit Review. The review is published instantly and badged as a verified purchase.
- A customer can review each product only once; the button is replaced by a thank-you note afterwards.
- Guests and logged-in users who have not purchased the product see a note explaining that only verified buyers can review.
4. Ratings on your storefront
- Approved reviews power the rating widget shown directly below the product title on single product pages and in shop/category loops.
- Each rating is displayed as a row of five robot faces that all share the mood of the average score — from an angry red robot at 1 star to a joyful green robot at 5 stars.
- The review count next to the rating is a link that opens the product’s Reviews tab.
5. Google rich results
- Approved reviews are automatically added to your product pages as schema.org
aggregateRatingandreviewmarkup — no extra plugin or settings required. - To check a page, run its URL through Google’s Rich Results Test.
- Pending reviews are excluded from the markup, so only reviews you have approved can influence your search results.
6. Track your reviews
- The reviews list shows the rating, every linked product, the reviewer, the date, the status and the actions for each review.
- Use the status filter and the search box to find reviews quickly; long lists are paginated.
7. Removing the plugin
- Deactivating the plugin hides all ratings but keeps your reviews.
- Deleting the plugin from the Plugins screen removes its custom tables and options permanently.
FAQ
-
When will star ratings appear in Google search results?
-
Rich results depend on Google’s crawling and indexing. Once your product pages are re-indexed, eligible products can show review stars. You can test your pages with Google’s Rich Results Test tool.
-
Does it work with my theme?
-
Yes. The rating widget hooks into WooCommerce’s standard template locations and a small script relocates it directly below the product title, so it stays correctly placed on virtually any theme.
-
Who can write reviews?
-
Two ways: you can add and manage reviews yourself from the dashboard, and any logged-in customer who has purchased the product can post their own review via the «Add Review» button in the Reviews tab. Submissions are verified against their orders automatically; guests see a friendly note instead.
-
Do pending reviews affect ratings?
-
No. Pending reviews stay hidden from the storefront and from the schema.org markup until you approve them.
